Gang Intervention and Suppression Team (GIST)
The Gang Intervention and Suppression Team (GIST) focuses on criminal street gangs throughout Kern County.
After Care
The Aftercare Program is committed to provide intensive supervision for community safety and educational programs to redirect Wards who are furloughed to the Aftercare Services unit from the Kern Crossroads Facility, Camp Erwin Owen, the Pathways Academy and the Avenues to Change Program.
Out of Home Placement
The Placement unit is a complicated and fast-paced unit. Officers in the unit are charged with performing a wide variety of duties.
Early Intervention Program
The Early Intervention Program is a collaborative evidence based project effort between the Kern County Probation Department, participating schools and school district representatives, community partnerships, mental health providers, local law enforcement agencies, and other community based organizations.
Prevention Services Team
The Prevention Services Team provides intervention services to "at-risk" juveniles in hopes of avoiding their entry into the formal delinquent court system.
Blanton Academy
Blanton Academy is a program designed to address the specific needs of first-time offenders as well as provide an alternative to confinement.
