Investigations
Juvenile Investigation units serve minors who are less than 18 years of age and provide information to the Juvenile Court.
Supervision
The purpose of Juvenile Supervision is to assure that juvenile probationers comply with the orders of the Juvenile Court.
North Kern
The North Kern Unit of Juvenile Probation has been active in the four communities of Shafter, Wasco, Delano, and McFarland.
Special Services
The Work Program was established by the Kern County Probation Department in 1977 as an alternative program to custodial treatment.
Repeat Offender Prevention Program (ROPP)
The Kern County Probation Department's metropolitan Repeat Offender Prevention Program (ROPP) was developed in 1998 based upon Orange County's "8%" population study of high risk juveniles who commit more than half of all repeat juvenile crimes.
Specialized Treatment Offender Program (STOP)
The Specialized Treatment Offender Program (STOP) is a court ordered program for juveniles with substance abuse problems.
School Supervision
K-9
The Kern County Probation Department K-9 Team was created in May of 2005. The mission of the K-9 Team is to provide drug detection capability to aid in the investigation, apprehension and prosecution of probationers or wards engaged in illegal drug activities.
Electronic Monitoring
The Adult Electronic Monitoring Program was established by the Kern County Probation Department on April 1, 1990 under provision of California Penal Code Section 1203.016.
Graffiti Caseload
The Probation Graffiti Caseload targets approximately 60 wards on probation for at least one or more graffiti-related offenses. One Deputy Probation Officer tracks the probationer’s compliance with the terms and conditions of probation and fulfillment of specialized program activities.
Sex Offender Caseload
The Juvenile Sex Offender caseload is supervised by a specially trained supervision officer that provides each ward and their parent’s clear expectations of their specialized treatment and supervision terms.
