Assistant Division Director - Juvenile Hall
Mrs. Yanez received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology from Fresno State University in 1986. Her career with the Kern County Probation Department began in 1987 when she worked as an Extra-Help Group Counselor in Juvenile Hall. In 1988, she was hired as a permanent employee and was promoted to Deputy Probation Officer I. Since her permanent appointment in 1988, Mrs. Yanez has served as a Deputy Probation Officer I, II, III, and Probation Supervisor. In 2005, she was appointed Assistant Division Director at Juvenile Hall specifically over the Avenues to Change and Pathways Academy Programs.
Mrs. Yanez has served the department in many capacities which include: Adult and Juvenile Supervision, the Repeat Offender Prevention Program, the Early Intervention Program, Aftercare, and Adult Investigations. In 1998, Mrs. Yanez received an “Outstanding Service Award” from California Probation and Parole Correctional Association.
