Crossroads Visitation

Regular Visits:
Sundays: Visits will be limited to parents and guardians for a total time of two hours.


  • 1:30-3:30 for A Wing
  • 2:30-4:30 for B and Apex

Due to limited visiting space, no more than two visitors will be allowed to go to the unit. If the situation dictates, special visit arrangements may be made through Crossroads Administration and minor’s assigned Probation Officer.

Infant and Child Visits:
Sundays: 10:00–11:00 a.m. Probation Officer approval is required prior to the first visit. The child’s guardian must remain on facility grounds for the duration of the visit.

Parent Sessions:
Wings A, B & C 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Wings D, E, & F -1:30-2:30 p.m

These meetings are designed to answer parent questions, give feedback, and provide parents with alternative methods of dealing with delinquent behavior. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend the meetings and take an active/supportive role in the future success of their child.

Ward Picnics: (8 & 16 week)
Sundays: 11:15 am to 12:15 pm (maximum1 hour)
After a minor successfully completes 8 & 16 weeks in the Kern Crossroads Facility Program, he is “ELIGIBLE” for a picnic with his parents and grandparents.

Visitor’s Dress Code
All visitors shall abide by the following guidelines while visiting in the institution. Persons who fail to abide by the dress code will not be allowed entrance into the facility or may have their visit canceled upon discovery of the violation. It shall be at the discretion of the Duty Supervisor to determine the appropriateness of any attire not specifically prohibited in this policy.

The following will not be allowed:

  • Clothing that could be designated as “gang related” including, but not limited to red or blue shirts, jackets, hats, belts, etc. with insignias or initials.
  • Clothing or accessories which display obscene or offensive language or drawings.
  • Clothing which exposes body parts or inappropriate tattoos of the visitor or that the Duty Supervisor deems inappropriate. This includes, but is not limited to mini skirts, tank tops, strapless or “spaghetti” strap tops, unbuttoned shirts, low cut tops or undergarments that are exposed.
  • Hats (except with prior approval from the Duty Supervisor).
  • Any sharp/pointed body piercing.
