JJ Zahry


Division Director – Administrative Services

Mr. Zahry received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California in 1993. He began working for the Santa Barbara County Probation Department as Extra-Help Group Counselor at Juvenile Hall and then began his career with the Kern County Probation Department as a Deputy Probation Officer in 1994. Since that time, he has worked in several assignments, including Adult Investigations, Juvenile Supervision, Juvenile Investigations and Adult Supervision. In 2004, he was promoted to Probation Supervisor where he began supervising a Juvenile Supervision unit, and later transitioned to supervision the Adult High Risk Offender Unit. In 2011, he was instrumental in creating and supervising the Post Release Community Supervision Units in AB 109. In 2015, JJ was promoted to Assistant Probation Division Director and in 2017, he was promoted to his current position, the Probation Division Director, assigned to the Administrative Services Division.
