Marc Bridgford

Deputy Chief – Institutions

Mr. Bridgford received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from California State University Bakersfield. His career with the Probation Department began in 1990 when he was hired as a Juvenile Corrections Officer-Extra Help. Since that time he has worked as a Juvenile Corrections Officer, Deputy Probation Officer, Probation Supervisor, Probation Division Director of Camp Erwin Owen, Juvenile Hall, Juvenile Services and Administrative Services. Currently, Deputy Chief Bridgford oversees the Facilities Bureau consisting of Juvenile Hall, Camp Erwin Owen and the Kern Crossroads Facility.

He has served the Department in many capacities including the placement unit, a specialized tagger caseload and the gang unit. In 2002 he received the CPPCA outstanding service award for Supervision Officer of the Year. He also served as the Department’s Rangemaster from 2004-2007. In 2005 he oversaw implementation of the Department’s K-9 drug detection program.
