The Training Unit is responsible for ensuring compliance with mandated training requirements established by the Corrections Standards Authority. It provides annual and entry level training to sworn staff and assists the Administrative Services with division specific functions.

The Probation Department also has a Range Master who is responsible for the weapons training and ongoing qualification of all armed staff. The Range Master and 10 certified instructors conduct range training for more than one hundred armed field staff to ensure regular practice and qualification with their duty weapon.
