Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council (JJCC)

The Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council (Council) is a multi-agency advisory board established by the Kern County Board of Supervisors pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code §749.22.  The Council is required to develop and implement a continuum of county-based responses to juvenile crime.  The Council is also responsible for developing a comprehensive, multiagency plan that identifies the resources and strategies for providing an effective continuum of responses for the prevention, intervention, supervision, treatment, and incarceration of male and female juvenile offenders, including strategies to develop and implement locally based or regionally based out-of-home placement options for youth described in WIC §602.
